According the Regulations for Diploma, Bachelor and Master Programs of the Institute of Chemistry of TU-Berlin, the  Examination Committees (german: Prüfungsausschuss) are responsible for:

• Organization of examinations,
• Approval of periods of study and of academic Graded perfomance tests or Graded Certificates of Achievments,
• Nomination of examiners and examination observers,
• Decisions about the choice of approproate examination conditions for students who are – due to physical handicaps or for other medical reasons as verified by an appropriate medical certificate – not able to undergo an examination procedure or to complete a study course in the usual manner,
• Approval and definition of elective courses or optional study couses.

The Examination Committees covenes monthly to discuss the qualifications approvals.

According to the examination regulations about the education and examination of officially certified and approved Food Chemists, effective from October 25th 2007, the Head of the Examination Committee for the Bachelor and Diploma Degree Programme in Chemistry, together with the Landesamt für Gesundheit und Soziales (LAGeSo) Berlin is responsible for the above mentioned items regarding the First Section of the Examinations for officially certified and approved Food Chemists at the Technical University of Berlin.
